3.1. What is a workshop

A workshop is a teaching method which allows:

  • The role of the ‘teacher’ to be reduced to a minimum. The trainer is acting more as a facilitator than a teacher.
  • The participants to learn by interacting with each other. The more active the participants are the more they will be able to learn.
  • To organize the learning process in such a way so it is more active; allows for a variety of techniques to be used, and to a larger extend allows to practice near real-life situations.
